Everything in the world is created perfect and in the later stage, they loose their charm and their value diminishes. This rule applies for everything and everyone. We can never eliminate the possibilities of wear and tear but we can definitely extend such possibilities by putting a good care and by maintaining the persons or products in some disciplined and magnificent manner.
So, the whole process of durability and life saving depends upon the care taken and the maintenance process. The same thing applies even in the case of ATVs. If you own an ATV for your fun ride, the life of the ATV is totally relied on the well maintaining process of yours. Even if it is a Chinese ATV or let it be the high valued branded ATV, the life relies on the maintenance is a clear cut fact. There are so many people who are even not aware of the ways to maintain the ATVs; here we have the list of some do’s and don’ts for the proper maintenance of the All Terrain Vehicles.
Regular Cleaning
Cleaning makes the vehicle beautiful and long lasting. The life of any vehicle can be boosted by the regular cleaning. Even in the case of ALL Terrain Vehicles, the cleaning after every ride is suggested strongly. The ATV rides are generally done in open ground inviting huge dirt on the vehicle. Even a single ride can make the vehicle’s look quite dirty and ugly. So, it is definitely better to make the cleaning on regular basis and also washing regularly is better as sometimes the dirt becomes very stiff and tough to remove in the later stages.
Even after washing, when you dry it off, don’t forget to check all the fasteners and levers and make at least a single minute drive after washing it to dry out the brake pads. The clear cleaning can also be obtained by applying WD40 to all the pivots, levers and exhaust pipe to prevent rust and premature wear. Also the Scotch
Bright pads can be used to remove the stubborn gasket remnants or rust from the exhaust pipes. The toothbrushes are the best cleaners for the smaller parts, so don’t throw them after using.
Use the appropriate parts
There are many companies and parts of the ATVs are available in the market, but it is really better to have the parts which are ore suitable for the ATV you own, as the wrong parts can damage the engine and also the overall performance of the ATVs. So, if you are willing to do your own engine work, it would be better to invest in a high quality torque wrench because the engine will definitely last longer when it is properly assembled with the correct torque on the fasteners.
Retrieve recycling
We use the aerosol cans regularly and also we have the habit of throwing them after using, but ideally the plastic caps shouldn’t be thrown and they should be kept for making great containers for sorting parts for your ATV as well as parts of chemical for dipping and cleaning your machine. In this case, recycling is certainly the way to go.
Polishing is the polished way
The floor polish can be the best thing one can use for keeping the machine shiny and also keeping the mud away from the ATVs. The plastic has the benefit of avoiding the mud stain which can be wiped off with a damp cloth. Another way of cleaning the stains off if your machine has white plastic is to use an SOS pad but just take care that they shouldn’t work on red plastics as the pad will leave on white streaks.
Never let the tires tired
Tires are the backbone of any vehicle. If tires are not kept in the proper mode, the load on the ATVs can not be bared properly which can result in low fuel capacity and also in the possible damage or accident. One should keep habit of checking the tire pressure before riding on the machine. The ATV tires are inherently leaky. If you intend to ride on rocky conditions on your machine or if you are going for high speed riding, you must get to the high speed and high quality tires.
The above are the suggestions to maintain your ATV and to give it a boost of “extra life”. |
